The Sweet Primeroses (CD)
In the 1960s and 70s Shirley Collins was regarded as the first lady of folk music - the following decades have more than confirmed this status. Between 1955 and 1978 she recorded numerous hits for the labels Folkways, Argo, Harvest and Topic. After the release of For As Many As Will in 1978, she retired from the music business. She only recently returned to the musical scene after this long pause. She is still regarded as one of the best singers and musical ambassadors of folk music.
