Hovezi Porazka : Beef Slaughter = LP = (LP)
PPU was one of the few prog bands that arguably got better in the 80s. Or maybe they just finally got hold of some better recording equipment. Whatever the case, Hov?zí porážka has a bright, clean sound, which gives the group's usual plodding performance a lighthearted step, as if they are happy for a change. The 40-minute playing time makes it easier to digest to, coming off like a "real" album instead of just another collection of scattered tracks. Had Hov?zí porážka been released in '84 with decent distribution, it would have held its own alongside comparable RIO efforts by Univers Zéro and Von Zamla.
