MABOROSHI PAGANZ is a Japanese band made around Chihiro SAITO (Vocals, saz & fretted hurdy-gurdy), known for having been part of several groups on the Japanese stage, as far as Progressive rock is concerned (GOLDEN AVANT-GARDE, LACRYMOSA...). This new group is completed by Keiichi SATOW (Vocals, oud & ethnological forgery), Hotaka HIRATA (Acoustic guitar, virtual Mellotron & chorus) and Chisato YAGI (Darbouka & tombak). The instrumentation chosen indicates that the music is now focused around traditional strings instruments. Jointly published in the year 2011 by Musea and Poseidon, the self-titled mini-album is made of two originals and four covers. The latter ones consist of two traditional song, one classical composition (Olivier MESSIAEN) and one popular tune (Donovan LEITCH). To be discovered !
