Memories (CD)
Russian Federation folk metal band Last Wail return with their 2nd full length album Memories. Although they have always been a folk metal band, they have tweaked their sound a bit. They have moved more into the speedy and power metal type of folky sound we have come to love out of Ensiferum, especially on their favorite album of mine From Afar. While Memories does have quite a bit of a speedy power metal oriented folk sound, don't expect a whole lot of epic/grande songs. The band does, however, seem very folky at times because they do like to make use of the flute and I like it. All the vocals are extreme and we certainly get some influence of MDM, too.
