Shuggie's Boogie: Shuggie Otis Plays The Blues (CD)
Shuggie Otis, perhaps best known as the son of legendary bandleader Johnny Otis, is serious about his guitar playing. Shuggie started playing guitar at the age of two and started playing professionally with his father's band at eleven. He often dressed up with dark glasses and a fake moustache so that he could play in nightclubs with his father's band Shuggie became a master of the blues and is the composer of "Strawberry Letter # 23", a big hit for the Brothers Johnson in 1977, Shuggie recorded some albums, played some tracks on Frank Zappa's "Hot Rats" and then just retired. At the age of 22!
