This album kinda feels like what might've happened if Emperor had done an album right after Wrath of the Tyrant but before the s/t EP, sorta. A lot of the riffs come off as cut from a similar cut - lots of gnashing, bending Frost-inspired riffs alongside some straight up winding tremolo melodies, kinda like that. It's obviously not nearly as raw, this album possessing kind of a folky tinge to the melodies without being stupid about it.
