Guerrilla Drive Valley = Digipak = (CD)
For a debut, Guerrilla Drive Valley is impressively consistent. Acid Elephant, the Pori-based trio of: Ilpo Kauppinen, Miksa Väliverho and Roope Vähä-Aho, have clearly put lots of thought and effort into horning their sound - a gothic, industrial mix of aggressive, modern-day stoner. In some cases, this dark and moody and approach is sure to surprise unsuspecting listeners; as you only need to take one look at the Finland ensemble's Facebook page, to see band's such as: Truckfighters, Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures staring back at you; the latter being the nearest you will come in hearing streamlined gothic-aggression in the confines of the desert. Void of any production misfires that usually mar debut releases, Acid Elephant haven't completely figured out how to insert substantial variety into such a well-defined genre; yet as the album progresses, Guerrilla Drive Valley lumbers over rough terrain with layers of chugging feedback and cymbal crashing with workmanlike efficiency.
