Never ones to stay still for too long, Mogador begin writing the second cd in late summer 2009. The subject matter for the new work comes unexpectedly in the form of a newspaper article. The story tells of an employee of a large global organisation who gets stuck in the lift in the office after hours. For reasons unknown, the person remains trapped for several days. Eventual rescue is followed by an attept to sue for negligence. The case is thrown out and the unfortunate person finds himself as a modern-day 'untouchable' as far as his employability is concerned. Through an unexpected period of hardship and soul-searching, the person's moral compass is re-set and all is the better for it. Musically speaking the story appeals to Mogador, and the album sonically explores the whole raft of emotions associated with the story. The nine songs that make up the cd show the band developing a certain self confidence. Tracks range from the most modern of progressive rock, to classical inspired arrangements and even a multi-layered choir of over twenty voices; the band also seems to have a certain penchant for melody and the skill to fashion it into "proper" songs, that's why Mogador's music is challenging but always careful to remain at the right side of self-indulgement.
