Portugal's Dawnrider have been around for over ten years now, on their third album they have upped the ante and their brand of greasy, high octane doom is noticeably invigorated by faster tempos, fatter production and huge swathes of hammond organ, Spiritual Beggars style. The head-charging opener "Demons" morphs comfortably from mid-paced Sabbathian sludge into galloping Iron Maiden territory towards the end and the long song lengths give the band time to explore complex arrangements, peppering each track with well-executed bouts of duelling solos.
