The impact The Creation had on mod Britain is obviously incalculable to someone who did not live then. Therefore, my review is only of the recorded tracks present on this "album" and not of the band's importance on the UK scene at the time (which by all accounts was quite formidable).
The album starts off with a bar band version of "Cool Jerk" that plays as boring as it sounds. However, throughout the album Eddie Phillips' guitar playing is the main attraction. It's a slick, raunchy and raucously fuzzy tone that Phillips uses to great effect on key tracks "Making Time" and "Through My Eyes". It is worth noting that Phillips was the first popular rock guitarist to use a violin bow on an electric guitar (this had a great influence on an impressionable Jimmy Page). The remainder of the album however is largely unmemorable.
