Despite this being self-titled, it's actually their third record, their roots harking back to '67-'68 when Arbus witnessed a stage performance of Jean Luc-Ponty and his melding of electric violin with traditional music. With a light bulb overhead, he incorporated the already-familiar instrument with a jazzy penchant and eastern flare. By this lp, more of a country twang infiltrated the band's sound, and the revolving door of musicians deflates the five-piece to a three-piece for this offering: Arbus (who also sings), Jim Roche (guitar) and David Jacks (bass). The drummer is undisclosed.
