On October 13, 1986 Saxon released their eighth studio album "Rock The Nations". It was recorded at Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, Netherlands, under the direction of Gary Lyons. Biff Byford, who coincidentally started his career as a singing bassist, recorded all the bass tracks on the album, however Paul Johnson is listed on the album as the bassist who joined the band shortly before its release. An unusual guest featured on Rock The Nations is found in Elton John, who plays piano on "Northern Lady" and "Party Til You Puke."
