Precambrian (CD)
« Precambrian » was the album that established the band in the premier league of progressive European metal, and for many it is the group's most popular record to date. It is miles ahead of its predecessors in terms of complexity of arrangements, depth of mood and conceptual coherence. « Precambrian » is a double album divided into 2 different parts, showcasing the band's full diversity of sound and exploring the full range of dynamics, from calm and quiet to crushingly heavy moments: the first part focuses on short, heavy and straight-forward tracks, while the second part contains long, epic and polyphonic compositions, rich with large orchestrations and subtle textures. While the first part continues where « Aeolian » left of, it was the second part that was truly groundbreaking for the band. From the ambitious album concept to the ball-crushing sound to the unique graphic realisation, « Precambrian » was different in every regard from anything else that existed at the time of its release - and this is why this album was placed on the pantheon of timeless major artistic works by many.
