Heavy Demons = LP = (LP)
Two years after their masterpiece called Black Mass, Death SS returned with a new album that follows, more or less, the same traces of their works before. In this case too, we can say that they recorded another excellent album, full of the main characteristics of the band. The line up is the same one, except for the new, very good drummer Ross Lukather. The production in this new effort is clearer than in the previous albums, being also more powerful but a bit less "evil", losing some of the most gloomy atmospheres. But, anyway, do not worry! They are always Death SS with their style. A good example of what I said is the intro to this album, made of strange voices followed by a great chorus that seems come out from a black mass. The beginning is very good and with the first song we go on in perfect Death SS style. Their main influences are always horror, speed and classic metal, atmosphere, violence, occult. "Lilith" song is hypnotic and the following "Peace Of Mind" is faster and "thrashy". The solos are always well done, evocative and melodic. With "Way To Power" we can reach again the top of quality. This song is awesome, so melodic...great. Even with the electric guitars the song remains a ballad. This song always gives me different emotions: sadness, gloom, desolation, damnation but with a romantic melody. "Baphomet" and "Inquisitor" songs have both great riffs supported by words in Latin and the atmosphere here is even darker than in the previous songs. The clean chorus create a strange, ritualistic sound and the
