I had overlooked Bond's solo material of the late 60's, and decided to investigate, finding a couple of titles at a record show. This was his final release, but fails to show many of the typical trappings of decline found when artists are on the downtrend. Here I found a mix of blues rock and various other forms of semi-commercial rock. There is an ethnic African flavored track, and a Christian rock cut. Many of the others defy immediate classification, but feature extended improv's just the same. The lead-off track was the strongest, I feel, and this is reprised in part II at the end of the album, implying that they felt the same as I do about its strength. On the whole, this probably isn't worth actively seeking out if you aren't already familiar with his material. But it's a nice surprise to stumble upon as I did.
