Manfred Krug, one of Germany's best-known actors, born in Duisburg in 1937, moved to Leipzig at the age of twelve. From 1956 television roles, numerous national prizes of the GDR. In 1976, with the signing of the declaration of protest against the expatriation of Wolf Biermann, Krug's career intheGDR ended, and in 1977 he moved to West Berlin. From 1978 big TV episode with "Auf Achse", "Sesame Street", "Tatort" and "Liebling Kreuzberg". 1988 Grimme Award for "Liebling Kreuzberg". Numerous CD and book publications, currently: Mein schönes Leben (2003).
