Hollywoods hottest surfing sessionmen-drummer Hal Blaine, guitarists Billy Strange and Tommy Tedesco and, on bass, future superstar David Gates five years before Bread-combined forces on this album to pound out surf-style renditions of songs about...skiing? Unlikely as the combination was, this early-60s album remains hotly pursued by surf aficionados, and appears here with notes by Richie Unterberger which telemark their way through the ins and outs of how this project came to be.
