Remastered with improved artwork. Released on the major label EMI, sounds like no debut. It´s still one of the best MANOWAR albums.

Reviewed 20/3-19 by Patrik  Rating:
Manowar classics - All you need are these early records of Manowar everything after 1987 is Manowar 2.0 and more pop than metal even if there are good songs on each album these are the classics, those who call it cheesy are the ones Manowar mean with false metal...the posers. Those are the ones they wrote about early days, everyone laughing at them then or now are proving them right. Metal is a people, a race not just songs and music to sell and earn your millions. Look at the favorite bands the posers have (usually in the vein of Guns n Roses) and you can tell they are not meant for metal.
Either you get it or you don't. Just as you either laugh at Schwarzenegger as Conan or are blown away by the storytelling which I was as a kid and it was my favorite movie just like Manowar.

When this first album came there was nothing like it. Carl Canedy plays on the demo who later started The Rods.
Classic songs and the next two albums are complete 100% metal, this is just a taste of things to come...with Battle Hymn and Dark Avenger, the rest is rock 'n' roll the metal way, kinda like Ozzys Diary of a Madman in classy metal tunes where the titletrack is half the record and a classic.

Be well,
LPWJ
