Muddy Waters is considered one of the most influential artists in music history. He virtually created the blues "band" format that shaped the post-war Chicago blues sound and laid the foundation for rock 'n' roll. He deftly switched from acoustic blues to the electric sound that has been with us ever since. His music was the model for such celebrated artists as the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton
