This is rock music that could hardly be more pure and multi-faceted: With their latest album "Sonic Child", Münster-based Zodiac can neither be assigned to a specific era of music history nor to a narrowly defined style. The songs on "Sonic Child" are traditional and versatile, have strong riffs and driving drums, touch on the blues in a well-tempered way and possess a carefully chosen degree of heaviness at all times. Frontman Nick van Delft is at the center of the enjoyable goings-on, telling stories of small adventures and grand gestures. Some of these seem to be set in the Arizona desert ("Penny And The Dead Horse"), others in the cotton fields on the banks of the Mississippi ("Rock Bottom Blues").
