"Solid Ball of Rock" is the tenth studio album by the legendary heavy metal band Saxon and was originally released in 1991. Five of the eleven tracks were written by new bassist Nibbs Carter, who co-composed three other songs.
The addition of young bassist Nibbs Carter seemed to breathe new life into the group, who went on to release some of their most aggressive songs in years, including the thoroughly thrashy "Altar of the Gods" and the blistering "Baptism of Fire".
"For our audience - and without an audience there is no band - we refocused on "Solid Ball of Rock"..." says vocalist Biff Byford. "Since then, we've been all about it."
