It's Tight Like That (& The Jazz Wizards) (CD)
Blues-rock guitar wizard Jeff Healey has trafficked in a mainstream-oriented classic rock and pop sound for most of his career, but IT'S TIGHT LIKE THAT finds him, surprisingly enough, looking to the hot jazz of the 1920s and '30s for inspiration. Performed with his eight-piece ensemble, the Jazz Wizards, the album runs on high-octane, up-tempo swing, with Healey peeling off amazing lines on a classical guitar in vintage Django Reinhardt style. Trombonist Chris Barber is also on board, lending a classic tailgate technique to the proceedings.
