In 1954 José Rozenblit founded a record label in Pernambuco in the northeast of Brazil. Not only that: the enterprising Brazilian also treated himself to a super-modern studio and the state's first pressing plant Fabricas de Discos Rozenblit, the impressive name of the label, developed a truly unique Brazil sound far away from the centres of Rio and São Paulo. In collaboration with the Rozenblit archive and collectors in Brazil, the reissue label Mr Bongo succeeded in re-mastering the original tapes and making vinyl pressings according to the original specifications.
