Darkness Swallows All = Digipack = (CD)
After the cleaner and more black / death LP from 2019, Diocletian's 2021 EP is much closer to the murky war metal of "Doom Cult" and the like. Four tracks of bassy, extremely dissonant and even reverb-heavy tracks that might answer the issues fans had with "Amongst the Flames of a Burning God" (although I admit to having really liked it). The voclas on the EP are multi-tracked with slight delay, giving it almost a gang-vocal aesthetic that I didn't really expect after the cleaner LP. Some Order From Chaos vibes on the solos, too.
