After I had fallen in love with ISIS, I started to pay more attention to other Atmo Sludge artists such as Cult of Luna who have become one of my (if not the) absolute favorite bands over the years. I love all of their albums although some of them needed quite a bit of time until they had fully grown on me. It's quite sad that some people state that CoL would just be an ISIS clone (just as ISIS was accused of being a Neurosis ripoff which is an even more stupid thing to say). Of course there are huge influences but seriously, as much as I love ISIS, Cult of Luna are the stronger band. ISIS' "Panopticon" is definitely flawless but their later albums suffer from being to quiet overall. CoL have produced at least three almost perfect works and therefore are the much more consistent band.
