The delicate and nuanced Progressive rock performed by OMNI's Spanish members would sometimes evoke CAMEL, as played by musicians of SEBASTIAN HARDIE, if it wasn't for the fact that "Tras El Puente", recorded between 1990 and 1993, is a fully instrumental album... With "El Vals De Los Duendes" (2002), the Spanish line-up goes one step further in the direction of musical absolute. This majestic album, dedicated to the elves' waltz, will please the fans thanks to its delicacy and refinement. The band's varied influences go from the most symphonic PINK FLOYD (Dick PARRY's... Sorry, Pepe TORRES' saxophone included !), to the light jazz-rock fusion of RETURN TO FOREVER. Like a reminiscence of the Seventies flamenco-rock movement, the discreet Latin percussions come to give a unique southern flavour to this music. It's also noticeable that some vocals appear on "Rompeola" and on the eponymous track, and benefit from the warmth of the Spanish language. What else can we ask for ?!?... After a big line-up change, OMNI took five years to issue its third album, "Solo Fue Un Sueno" (2007). Apart from the band's traditional influences, one can notice some interesting ventures into musical styles such as jazz-rock fusion and arabic music. Here's a music to be sipped at ease, and above all, with great pleasure everytime !
