40th Anniversary Reunion Concert = DVD = (DVD)
An excellent dvd of a fantastic gig by a unique band. Following the death of Keith Emerson, I looked for any performances they had recorded, discovered this one, which is basically ELP's greatest hits, which couldn't have been closer to what I was looking for. Emerson was one of the greatest keyboard players, and their arrangements of Mussorgsky, Janacek, and other really exciting classical composers form some of the best music of the era. Greg Lake has a fine voice, but looks massively underemployed with only the mainly four strings of his bass guitar, compared to Emerson, who has at least five keyboards to work on. Carl Palmer on drums loves to show off, and does it well.
