With "Wie es war", Michael Girke's first regular album is finally released. After the debut "Liebe in GROSSEN Städten", a compilation of early recordings from the 80s, was received with enthusiasm, Michael Girke as Jetzt!, as he calls himself, now releases this gem of German singer-songwriting two years later. The album is about love and truthfulness, brilliantly sings about the big in the small (urban) and puts everything in an amazing and truly touching light. The songs are folky - in the best sense, acoustic guitar, sporadically accompanying organ, a piano, plus the drums in a reliably unspectacular groove. At this point also praise to Thomas Wenzel, the bassist of the stars and the Golden Lemons, who as a producer, musician and also arranger has his due share in the unconditional charm of this album.
