Estrechas Calles De Santa Cruz (CD)
The eponymous 9-min. track is a good example of Mediterraneo's safe and secure playing with good CAMEL-esque guitar work by Pedro Gimenez along with some spacey FLOYD-ian soloing and a smooth support by Carratala's piano.''Meditteraneo'' is a track following a smooth Latin-inspired base with extremely sensitive vocals and interesting Spanish-flavored guitar in a very calm vein. The first side of the LP closes with the weak ''En Mi'', commercial Pop Rock with only a decent moog solo by the end.The flipside opens with ''Mandragora'' and this is a decent Funk-Rock attempt by the band with moog synths on the forefront along with some quirky guitar playing, transforming later into tropical Jazz-Fusion with good electric piano and an energetic rhythm section. The closing and longer track of the album, the 12-min. ''Rollo Atomico'' is more of the same style, a mix of moog-driven Prog and Latin-based Jazz-Fusion with some interesting solos on synths and guitar, still a slight commercial vein is evident on the playing, while the long drum solo at the end is totally out of place.
