This is a little beauty from the 70s, with silly yodelly vocals, extended solos on harmonica and kazoo, and constant slapstick references to mundane things like Chiko rolls and milk & Bonox. There's this kooky fun of a gypsy-jazz swing thing going on here. Imagine a little Django Reinhardt & Stephane Grappelly, add some George Formby, Tiny Tim, a lot of hillbilly bluegrass blues flavouring, plus a large dose of ocker humour. Cool Leunig cartoons for cover art too. The final track, a completely off-the-wall cover of "Hernando's Hideaway", features every kind of quirky percussion sound imaginable, plus a solo done by blowing an extended raspberry.
