Let's Travel Around Europe By Lute Music = Digipack = (CD)
Shigeo MITO is probably the most renowned Japanese lute player, famous for his use of medieval and baroque instruments. He went to Spain to pursue research on European Renaissance and Baroque music as well as the Vihuela music of the Golden Age of the Renaissance in Spain. He studied at the Estatal Conservatorio Superior de Musica Oscar Espla Alicante and Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica Madrid. He participated in various International Workshops on authentic instruments held annually at El Escorial, La Seu D'Urgell, and Mijas. He studied the historical playing style of baroque music with W.R. TALSMA, a musicologist, organist, and cembalist. He also studied the lute, theorbo, baroque guitar, vihuela, and basso continuo with Jose Miguel MORENO and Hopkinson SMITH, and chamber music with Jordi SAVALL. Musea Parallèle released a solo Renaissance Lute and Vihuela CD entitled "Let's Travel Around Europe By Lute Music - Part One: The Renaissance Era" in the year 2008.
