Pagan Science = Digipack = (CD)
The crux with "Pagan Science," the second album from Austin's The Well, is that it is a multiplicity of itself. With both male and female vocals, timeless sounds, and literate themes, "Pagan Science" is simultaneously clear and complex
The Well balance on the dividing line between authentic seventies doom/heavy psych and the loopy weirdness of Austin's legendary noise rock scene, while chamber music, occult rock and gloomy folk join them on the side. "Pagan Science" picks up where The Well - consisting of bassist/vocalist Lisa Alley, guitarist/vocalist Ian Graham, and drummer Jason Sullivan - left off with their acclaimed 2014 Riding Easy debut "Samsara." The heavy psych/proto metal sound expands even further here, but at the same time focuses on the hooks while the lyrics become more conceptually complex
