Glass Harp (CD)
This band from Ohio offered some of the best and most melodic guitar rock to come out of the late sixties. Their debut album (as well as the two subsequent studio LPs was recorded for Decca in the Electric Lady Studios and released in early 1971. It was filled with varied, imaginative, progressive music similar to early Wishbone Ahs, The Allman Brothers Band and The Beatles. However, the band had its own sound featuring a superb combination of electric guitar leads, fine vocals and occasional flute parts, backed by tight, clean bass lines and solid, assertive drumming. The compositions were very solid and the musicianship was incredible. It's worth noting that Ted Nugent cited Phil Keaggy as the best guitar player he had ever seen!
