Principles Of Pain (CD)
"State of mind" (1997) and "Manifestation of fear" (1999) are the two best ELEGY releases and at the same time are those that drew my attention to their music, but "Forbidden fruit" (2000) has disappointed me because it was very mediocre. With their new release "Principles of pain" it looks like things are changing again for the best for them. The band is in a very good form (in spite of the departure of the founder and guitar player Henk Van der Laars) creating marvelous compositions. Powerful, technical guitars and solos, excellent keyboards and drums, perfect refrain and vocals. ELEGY, this time has achieved the "golden formula" and created a notable sample of European power metal with indistinct progressive extensions and plenty of realism and spontaneous ness. It is obvious that their new company has affected them positively, bringing to the surface the multilateral talent they've got. When you really want to do something right you cross over the past mistakes and what u create is remarkable and timeless.
