Complete Communion (CD)
Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey on December 24, 1965. Having already recorded albums as a co-leader with John Coltrane and Albert Ayler, Don Cherry released his first true solo album, "Complete Communion", on the Blue Note label in 1965 his first real solo album on the Blue Note label. Together with Argentine saxophonist Gato Barbieri, whom Cherry had discovered in Rome, bassist Henry Grimes and drummer Ed Blackwell, the cornetist presented two suites on "Complete Communion", each of which filled one album side .
