Now this is a proper fucking Heavy Metal record. Intricate, progressive, loud, and doomy as all hell. Probably the closest comparison I can make is if Flower Travellin' Band instead had formed in the early '80s instead of the '70s. That's really what it sounds like. Another comparison that could be made is to early Budgie, with the tempo changes that come out of bleeding nowhere. These guys were contemporaries to Maiden and were both proggy, but in different ways. While Maiden went for the more technical bombastic way, Legend is rooted in '70s heavy rock and horror, and this shows with the doom metal infused, cryptic ways these songs unfold.
