Heard Ya Missed Me, Well I'm Back (CD)
Eighth album and an effort for ssw/multi-instrumentalist Sly Stone to return to the concept of the successful funk/soul/rock revue of Sly & The Family Stone after a short break and a solo album called "High On You". Sly formed a new Family Stone, after a period filled with bankruptcy, drug abuse and divorce, with as only old family member trumpet player Cynthia Robinson. With a rough edge to his voice, Sly's fills and melodies remain incredible. The album was grossly overlooked at the time it was released in 1976 (peak of the disco era). Nevertheless the album is without doubt flavored with Sly as we know him and this time added with a little Philly.
