Anywhere = LP = (LP)
Flower Travellin' Band is best known for their outstanding second album Satori. It's one of the cornerstones of the heavy psych genre and also one of my personal favourite albums of all time. Flower Travellin' Band's predecessor was Yuya Uchida & The Flowers which released one album called Challenge! in 1969. It's sometimes called as the debut album by Flower Travellin' Band but their actual debut LP was Anywhere from 1970. The album is filled with cover songs and even if these are all pretty nice versions the lack of original material is not a positive thing. Their sound is raw and heavy for it's time and the instrumental work is solid. All of these tracks are pretty OK but my favourite is still "Twenty First Century Schizoid Man". As a totality Anywhere feels like a rehearsal for Satori. It's nothing mindblowing but if you enjoy Satori you might wanna give this album a listen as well.
