Norwegian group Exploding Rubber Band's self-titled debut is a head on, never-say-die, hard rock journey through psychedelia, funk and folk influences. The music is cast within a general framework of heavy rhythm&blues, which never lets the need for quick effect usurp the primacy of good melody. The band's musical inspiration is found in 70s rock, and the avowed intention of the four-piece is keeping it up, keeping it clean - and keeping it fresh. A list of notable influences should include bands such as The Alice Cooper Band, Deep Purple, The Faces and The Who.
