Live At Liberty Hall (CD)
Like so many of the classic blues men his magic worked most keenly when he was on stage and this classic album which was recorded in the early 1970s contains a mix of classic blues tunes and a few more contemporary numbers. It was first released in 1995 through the good offices of an organisation of Texas blues aficionados. Just one listen shows why such legendary musicians such as Leon Russell were such big fans. King became an influential guitarist with hits for Federal Records in the early 1960s. He inspired musicians such as Jerry Garcia, Dickey Betts, Stevie Ray Vaughan and his brother Jimmie Vaughan. His influence was also felt in Britain through recordings by blues artists such as Eric Clapton, Peter Green, and Chicken Shack. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
