The Meat Puppets were among Kurt Cobain's declared idols. In 1993, Nirvana invited the band to join them on their legendary MTV Unplugged show. Three songs from the second Meat- Puppets album were included on the setlist. This crowd-pleasing performance paved the way paved the way for the subsequent success of the Puppets' album "Too High Too Die", which earned the band gold in the U.S. in 1994
