Krautrock 2 is the 2nd film in the Krautrock Trilogy, a mini-series of three feature documentary films that explore the classic German Krautrock bands that made music history in Germany during the late 1960s and early 1970s. This movement which involved inspirations from psychedelic, electronic, jazz, folk music, and noise, came to be known as Krautrock. For these bands, new forms of music were paramount. Their music is vital to West Germany's spiritual and artistic renewal. Krautrock 2 (2021) focuses on the bands from the South of Germany (Amon Düül II, Popol Vuh, Guru Guru, Xhol Caravan, Kraan, Witthüser & Westrupp). Krautrock 2 is the 6th film in the series on progressive rock "Romantic Warriors - A Progressive Music Saga", an overarching music documentary series on progressive rock. Krautrock 1 (2019) focuses on the bands that emerged in the Cologne/Düsseldorf region (Kraftwerk, Can, Electric Orange, Faust, Floh de Cologne, Japandorf, Krautrwerk, Neu!, La Düsseldorf, Wume), and Krautrock 3 (2023) will focus on the Krautrock bands from Berlin & Hamburg.
