Not Live At The BBC (CD)
As the title states this is Foghat recorded not at the BBC but on 27th June 2007 at EKO Productions in Commack, NY for Mark Klein's Blues Warehouse radio show and has just been issued through specialist label Angel Air. As the informative sleeve notes by Joe Geesin explain Foghat are a band that have never received acclaim in their native UK but found success with their driving blues rock formula across the Atlantic, incredibly shifting in excess of 2 million copies of 1977's Foghat Live. Four of that albums six cuts appear here as performed by the current line up that still boasts classic rhythm section of Craig McGregor and Roger Earl and now featuring the energetic Charlie Huhn (Ted Nugent) and Bryan Bassett, who have both been with the band for more than a decade since the death of Davy Peverett in 1999. This is essentially a no-frills live recording that does exactly what it says on the tin as they roll back the years for perennial live favourites "Home in My Hand", "Fool for the City", "Drivin Wheel" and "Slow Ride" (as performed by Adam Lambert on American Idol and even popping up on Guitar Hero). It shows that Foghat are a band that simply enjoy playing and with a relentless tour schedule in 2010 they have no thoughts of retirement yet
