Three masters of their craft: neo-classical sounds by Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Onnen Bock and Armin Metz In recent years, introverted, minimalist music has experienced a blossoming. Artists like Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds and Chilly Gonzales have been filling concert halls, and even a genre term of its own exists: Neoclassical. But it's not really so "neo": Erik Satie is always cited as the forefather of this style, and he lived over 100 years ago lived over 100 years ago. Hans-Joachim Roedelius is also a pioneer of this genre of musician. As the Member of the avant-garde electronic group Cluster released his first pure piano record in 1986 ("Wie das Wispern des Windes"), the term "neoclassical" had not yet been invented. With Qluster, the third incarnation of a music project that Roedelius, Dieter Moebius and Conrad Schnitzler had started in 1969 as the Schnitzler as Kluster, he continued this tradition. Together with Onnen Bock and Armin Metz, Roedelius produces minimalist, spherical sounds on three harmonically complementary concert pianos complementary concert grand pianos. A wonderful piece of neoclassicism by three masters of their craft.
