SCARLET THREAD is the name of a young and gifted Finnish Progressive rock band. The particularity of SCARLET THREAD is that there are two guitarists, whereas the keyboards parts have been replaced by a full-time violin player and also some flute sequences. This band has its own identity, melting dynamism, freshness and refinement. There are some folk hints in their melodies, but it's a real rock album. These nine instrumental pieces sometimes recall RENAISSANCE (In a more powerful style), KANSAS or JETHRO TULL. Above all, they can be brought near the only and excellent album by the english band SOLSTICE. Really impressive !
