Brian Eno is usually credited with the fact that everyone who bought a Velvet Underground album went on to form a band. It is no less bold to assume that everyone involved in the production of electronic music has heard "No Pussyfooting" and "Evening Star." Indeed, there are few contemporary albums that can claim a similar influence as "No Pussyfooting" by Fripp & Eno. It can be argued that for the vast majority of the album's purchasers at the time of its original release in 1973, it was their first exposure to the small world of electronic music. It can further be argued that for most buyers it was not their last album of electronic music. The equipment used was primitive by today's standards. The ideas implemented were enormous by any standards. Many ideas from it were subsequently developed further by various musicians.
