Many of you will know ELIXIR as the band that released the highly acclaimed "Son of Odin" album and had Clive Burr formerly of IRON MAIDEN filling the drumming stool for the second release "Lethal Potion". (By the way the band is considering to re-release "Lethal Potion" with its original mix and under its original title "Sovereign Remedy".) The band had been a going concern since 1983 and they lasted until 1990 when the disbanded somewhat disillusioned by the music business. Not long ago members of the band were contacted by the Greek metal Label Cult Metal Classics with views to re-release "Son of Odin". That happened last winter, but a nice side effect was that the band decided to re-unite as well to give it one more try. Today the band is back with its original line-up and they are releasing their third album "The Idol", consisting mainly if not entirely of old songs that were written in the old days before the band called it a day.
