Dundee's number one female-fronted blues-rock band, Mr Spider, issues their debut CD. The band is a quartet of electric guitar, electric bass, drums and the strong vocals of singer Michele Mclaren, playing a set of all-original songs that range from the seventies Santana - styled "Fallin' Apart" through the driving and lyrically amusing "Bottle Blues", to the album's two epic elements in the form of the smoking builder that is the spellbinding power of "Ain't No Good Men" and the strong, heartfelt and conceptual trilogy of tracks that close the album. With consistently strong electric lead and slide guitar work throughout the album, emotive, powerful and languid vocal performances plus driving rhythms, this is an album of quality and dynamic songs that add a new and refreshing element to a long-standing musical style.
