Fristad is a band that formed in 2008 in Umeå, Sweden. Instead of trying to stick to a specific style of music, they have always tried to play directly from their hearts. They focus on what they really think sounds good together, ignoring any rules or conventions in their music. Their personal influences span wider than the sea, taking inspiration from anything between bebop to hardcore and life itself. This type of open-minded musicianship contributes to making their sound something truly unique and it is something they are very proud of. In the press their sound has sometimes been labeled as "artrock" or "pop-fusion", and that's something they can relate to. One should also take note of that Fristad always set their standards very high and refuse to let any crowd down!
