The Archaïc Abattoir (CD)
The Archaic Abattoir is ten songs of non-stop gory death metal. Aborted have moved away form their earlier Carcass-like sound as this release is more American sounding and is more reminiscent of the likes of Broken Hope and Malevolent Creation. The sometimes barking vocals of Sven De Caluwe are also more typical of the American style. From the opener Dead Wreckoning all the way to the closing song Descend To Extirpation Aborted takes Carcass' Heartwork as a starting point and add many more death metal elements that take the listener to Florida and beyond. Not the most original of albums but never lacking a punch, this is 36 minutes well spent. Remastered edtion with one bonus track.
